Architech Sports and Physical Therapy trains athletes from all sports, including soccer, baseball, softball, football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and swimming. We even have fitness related programs for golfers. Based on a team approach, an athlete’s care is coordinated by many professionals, including a physical therapist, an athletic trainer, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Alan Tyson is the President Architech Sports and Physical Therapy. He was the former Vice President of Sports Performance and Rehabilitation for OrthoCarolina. He is a physical therapist board certified as a sports clinical specialist, a certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has worked with the Charlotte Knights (AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) and continues to serve as a consultant to the team. Alan is also a consultant with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Eagles. Alan has spoken regionally and nationally on various training topics including the foot and ankle, spine care, hip and knee rehabilitation, and he has developed two continuing education courses on the shoulder. He has written 3 books and developed specific training programs for the female athlete,the baseball pitcher, and for football players preparing for the NFL combines. Alan is also an associate editor of the National Strength and Conditioning Journal. He co-hosted a weekly radio show “Health Headlines” on 1110AM WBT with Stacey Sims and Dr. Russ Greenfield for 3 years.

Luke attended Westmont College (Santa Barbara, CA) on a soccer scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Post college, Luke played professional soccer for 6 years mostly in the USL as well as some time in the MLS with the Chicago Fire and Colorado Rapids. Luke has extensive knowledge in coaching soccer athletes but has trained athletes from all sports and all levels including MLS, MLB, and NFL athletes. His passion is working with youth athletes of all abilities and helping them understand how to live healthy lives and how to achieve their full potential on and off the field. He lives in Matthews with his wife Jane, and two boys, Wyatt and Nolan.
Hunter graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science
While at UNCC, Hunter completed an internship at Novant Health Sports and Performance Medicine powered by EXOS where he trained Olympic athletes, professional football players, collegiate athletes, high school and youth athletes.
Member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
Fitness Credentials: Certified Exercise Physiologist, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, EXOS Performance Specialist, EXOS Fitness Specialist, and is currently studying for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Exam.
My duties as a strength coach include the design and implementation of programs to improve strength, speed and agility, power, nutrition, recuperation and rehabilitation. I love seeing young athletes getting better by enhancing their athletic performance and reducing their chance of injury.
Graduated from Winthrop University in 2017 with an Bachelor of Science Degree in exercise science degree. During my time at Winthrop I completed a internship with Architech Sports where I got experience working with youth ages 9-17 from various sport backgrounds in team and individual settings. After college I took on an internship with UNC Charlotte strength training program. There I worked heavily with there men’s and women basketball, soccer and volleyball teams.
Jaylan has credentials as a Certified Speed and Agility Coach(CSAC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist(CSCS), and a National Academy of Sport Medicine(NASM) Personal Training Certification.
